Honoring Our Heroes Annual Fundraiser to Support Wounded Veterans

The first-ever Honoring Our Heroes Annual Fundraiser, hosted by the Georgia Chapter of Safari Club International (SCI) and the Lake Oconee Elks Lodge #2849, will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Briarpatch Farm in Eatonton, Georgia. The evening is dedicated to honoring service, raising support for wounded veterans, and celebrating resilience through stories, music, and fellowship. The program will feature Mark Nutsch—Green Beret commander and the real-life inspiration behind the story portrayed in 12 Strong—as keynote speaker. Guests will also enjoy a live performance from Matt Rogers, an award-winning Georgia-born songwriter and entertainer whose work includes the veteran-advocacy song “Camouflage.” Attendees will also hear from Retired U.S. Army Sgt. Mario Lopez—a wounded warrior, Purple Heart recipient, and accomplished artist—who shares his story of perseverance, healing, and hope.
