A Night of Timeless Sound: The Swingin’ Medallions

As summer begins to soften into fall, the rhythms of the South will come alive in Eatonton with a band that has defined generations of good times. On Saturday, Sept. 19, The Plaza Arts Center
will host an outdoor concert featuring the legendary Swingin’ Medallion. This promises to be an evening full of music, memories, and a celebration of a distinctly Southern sound. For more than 60 years, the Swingin’ Medallions have been a cornerstone of Southern music culture. Made famous by their 1.5 million selling hit album, “Double Shot of My Baby’s Love,” in 1966, the song, and band, continue to demonstrate the timeless quality that the Swingin’ Medallions have. The song’s brassy swagger and playful energy propelled it onto the Billboard charts and into the soundtrack of the 1960s—and it has remained a staple at parties, reunions, and dance floors ever since.
But the Swingin’ Medallions are far more than a one-hit wonder. Over decades of touring, they have built a reputation as one of the most enduring and entertaining live acts in the Southeast.
